The Nature Loo Alectura is an Australian-designed composting toilet specifically for tiny homes and off-grid living communities.

Based on the design of the Nature Loo Classic 650 and the Clivus Multrum Low Profile, this new design boasts more usable space while maintaining the same unit height, an improved mixer and crank mechanism, and more durable materials. So you can compost with confidence from the snow of the Australian Alps, through the arid sands of the outback, all the way to the humidity of the tropical north.

With two product models available, we have something for every need and budget. The Alectura Comfort promises not to break the bank, offering a safe and cost-effective complete composting toilet system. While the Alectura Premium is so you don't have to break your back, it's the best of the best for those looking for features and enhanced capabilities.

New and updated design features

Optimal composting conditions are above 12 degrees Celsius, moisture content of 60 - 80%, fresh airflow including oxygen, and a 30:1 carbon-nitrogen ratio. All the design considerations are to maintain this healthy composting environment

• Double walls and ventilation
  • One of the most important parts of a composting toilet, the perforated wall of the inner chamber and the fan helps to aerate the compost, reducing build-up of moisture and drawing away odours.
• Leachate drain
  • Of course, the other most important part of a composting toilet, where the excess liquid filters through the base of the internal chamber and drains out the sullage hose into an absorption trench.
• Removable internal chamber
  • For regular usage, you won't need to remove the internal chamber as we suggest just leaving some composted material in the base to replace the starting layer of bulking agent. But if maintenance requires a deep clean, it's easy to dismantle the chamber and access all the working parts.
• Locking ring
  • A stainless steel ring to keep the lid of the chamber tightly secured. This will minimise the impact of negative air pressure, and the ingress of insects, and will keep the contents safe from mischievous animals or children.
• Inspection plug
  • For the out-of-service chamber, simply remove the bright green plug to take a peek at the progress or the condition of the compost.
• Wicks
  • Built into the base of the internal chamber allowing the reabsorption of liquids that have filtered through the pile. Optimising the moisture content of the compost pile (especially when paired with the mixing blades to help move that moist compost around the chamber).
• Dual mixer blades
  • Stronger and sturdier than a single blade, the dual mixer blades extend deep into the pile to churn and aerate the compost. This accelerates the composting process. The result is a level pile operating under optimal conditions; both of which increase the active capacity of the chamber.

Ezylift

A portable trolley for moving the Alectura chambers. Simply roll it up to the chamber, slide the locks into place, tilt the handle down to lift the chamber up, and walk the chamber to where you want it.
